Void - Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Hello folks, we're happy to introduce the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature!
2FA adds an extra layer of security to your website and launcher logins, helping to prevent unauthorized access to your account. We strongly recommend enabling this feature.
How does it work?
- First, disable your PIN and then click on "Enable 2FA".
Important: Every time you click "Enable 2FA", a new QR code is generated.
- Scan the QR code using your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code without closing the window. If you close the window and click "Enable 2FA" again, a new QR code will be generated, so you'll need to scan it again.
- Once enabled, a recovery codes window will appear. Click "Save to File" to download them.
- Recovery codes are for use if you lose access to your authenticator app. When logging in to the website, you'll see a "Use recovery code instead" option. If you use a recovery code to log in, 2FA will automatically be disabled on your account (you can re-enable it afterward).
- You can also track active sessions from the settings page and revoke access for any device you don't recognize.
Launcher:
- After enabling 2FA, you'll need to log out of your account in the launcher and re-add it (otherwise, you won't be able to launch the game).
- Log in to the launcher as usual by entering your credentials and clicking "Log in".
- If 2FA is enabled, an additional field for the 2FA code will appear.
- Enter the correct code and click "Log in" again.
- You're all set!
Q&A
Q: Will PIN be disabled in the future?
A: Yes, PIN will be disabled for all accounts in future. We haven't chosen a specific date yet. Players will definitely be informed multiple times, and this will be spread out over time. It won't happen overnight, but it's better to disable your PIN now and use 2FA if you want.
Q: Can I use any authenticator app?
A: Yes, you can. Any standard authenticator app that supports TOTP (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.) will work.
Q: When does it check the 2FA code? For example, if my account disconnects, do I have to re-enter the 2FA code?
A: The 2FA code is only required during login to the website or launcher. As long as you do not log out of your account in the launcher, you will not be asked for the 2FA code again โ even if you disconnect, crash, or restart the game.
Q: Can I use PIN and 2FA at the same time?
A: No you cant
Q: Can I disable Pin and not use 2FA?
A: We dont recommend that but yes, You can do that. Keep in mind that if you are using the same password in other places you are easy to be hacked
